My practice walks a line between figuration and abstraction, across 2D and 3D. Touch, nurture, humour and the otherworldly are recurring themes as I reflect on the interconnectedness of life and different states of being. Materials are important, matter and surface are significant and energy of intention and execution are things I think about.
I work intuitively using a wide range of media including oils, acrylics, watercolour, printing inks, pastels and charcoal on canvas, panel, cardboard and paper and in different scales.
Subjects are inspired by life events both personal and global, by art history, literature, tv, music, emotions and by happen-chance. I am curious, I like to explore, to be attentive to possibilities and to consider the business of looking and the ‘what is' of making and bringing some new thing into being.
